This position supervises front desk operations and trains and mentors front desk employees.
The hours for this position are Saturday and Sunday mornings and 1-2 evening weekday shifts as necessary.
Ensure front desk policies and procedures are consistently followed Assist the Guest Service Manager with administrative duties Train Guest Service Agents and ensure they have the tools needed to effectively carry out their job duties Act as liaison between departments to facilitate hotel communication and guest satisfaction Review daily expected arrivals and check all VIP and special request reservations to ensure that they are pre-registered, blocked properly, and other departments are notified of room assignments Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests, and ensure that all guests sign a guest registration card and provide a credit card or other method of payment Communicate all hotel policies to guests and answer any questions regarding policies Be familiar with room locations, types of rooms, and room rates Answer, screen and forward phone calls, take messages and schedule/change reservations Enroll guests in brand rewards program and provide appropriate benefits to rewards members Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions Complete daily shift check lists Ensure that there is appropriate employee coverage at the front desk before leaving the property Communicate guest needs and facility issues to housekeeping and/or maintenance staff Document guest complaints Resolve guest issues quickly, efficiently, courteously and professionally, and refer issues to management when necessary Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager on duty immediately Post charges, such as those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls Follow all cash-handling and credit policies Verify bank count and make deposits each shift Be responsible for the cleanliness and order of the front desk and adjacent work areas Complete front desk communication log daily Report and store lost and found items in accordance with Company procedures Perform work duties in accordance with Company safety and security policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations, such as OSHA regulations Perform Guest Service Agent, Manager on Duty, and/or Night Auditor duties if necessary Ensure brand standards are being followed Represent Company mission and values on a daily basis REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Service Oriented - Actively looking for ways to help people Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do Adaptability - Ability to adapt to changing situations Problem Sensitivity - Ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choosing the most appropriate action Computer Skills - Must be proficient in using basic programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and be able to operate basic office machines such as copier, fax, printer, and calculator Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it Prioritization - Must be able to adjust to changing priorities and complete multiple projects despite interruptions Oral Comprehension and Expression - Ability to listen and verbally communicate information and ideas so others will understand Written Comprehension and Expression - Ability to read and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand Detail Oriented - Ability to pay acute attention to detail Physical Demands - Must be able to do all of the following:
