We are looking for an experienced executive-level accounting professional to join our team.
Our ideal candidate has a strong background in hospitality and property management.
Under the supervision of the CEO, the incumbent, either personally or through subordinates, directs the financial affairs, prepares financial analyses of operations and proformas of new projects, reviews systems for efficiency improvement, is involved in the strategic planning process and other projects as required.
The Vice President of Accounting will oversee all financials, accounting and financial reporting.
Our ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with the ability to analyze financial results for a diverse group of assets using an entrepreneurial mindset.
The candidate must possess strong communication, technology, analytical and management skills, and be knowledgeable of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
This position will work closely with Accounting Supervisors, Managers, Property Accountants, Accounting Assistants, AP, AR, Cash, and Property General Managers.
The VP is responsible for providing consistent leadership and supervision of the team.
This position requires a detailed understanding of accounting and collections practices.
This position is also responsible for cash management preparation, analysis and reporting.
Essential Functions:
(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position) Ensure deliverables are timely and accurate.
Develop and implement processes for efficiency, quality control, and timely deliverables.
Make changes to processes and organizational structure as needed to deliver optimal result in department.
Ensure processes are clearly documented (SOP's), efficient, and consistently followed.
Oversee staffing needs in order to meet deliverables and allow margin for growth/coverage.
Identify and oversee process improvements and collaborative projects.
Collaborate with Accounting team, IT development team, and third-party providers of software & services.
Develop a customer service-oriented culture within the department emphasizing the importance of internal (team members) and external (clients) customer service.
Work with managers and client board members to solve problems and reporting needs.
Educate and update managers and board members at recurring meetings.
Other projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of relevant work experience within the hospitality industry is required.
Possess the knowledge and ability to lead, train and direct a team with a focus on mentoring, developing, and motivating.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with expert/advanced Excel skills.
Must be able to oversee multiple properties and direct reports with the ability to prioritize.
Must have excellent communications and organizational skills.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Experience with Software Development and API's.
Experience in the property management industry.
Experience with multiple accounting platforms.
Experience with CINC Systems.
Experience with AP Workflow systems.
Strong understanding of the CA Davis-Stirling Act.
Strong understanding of California & Federal collections procedures.
Strong technological skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
