Summary:
Ogletree Deakins has the opportunity for an experienced Senior Billing Specialist to join the firm's expanding Billing department.
The Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for all aspects of client billing for assigned Billing Attorneys.
This position will prepare complex multipayor, joint and split billing while managing a large volume of client billing to include multiple location assignments.
The Senior Legal Billing Specialist is knowledgeable about the Elite or Aderant database and table relationships thus able to provide feedback/suggestions to improve processes/efficiencies, and assists with the testing and implementation of same.
This role serves as the first catalyst for escalating any situation that needs the authority of a Billing Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
Perform full-cycle billing functions.
This includes, but not limited to reviewing time entries, processing edits, transfers of time entries when necessary and preparing and posting final bills for the monthly billing cycle.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Ensure cross-team quality of work.
Encourage collaborative behavior across the team.
Assist with delivering training pertaining to policies and procedures in their particular area of expertise.
Proactively seek and provide recommendations to improve existing billing processes, training needs and resources.
Serve as mentors and assist in the training and development of Billing Specialists and Billing Assistants.
Consistently model positive and professional behavior and encourage team to do the same.
Requirements:
Four-year undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 3
years of law firm billing experience, preferably within a global law firm or professional services environment.
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast paced environment and communicate clearly and directly with internal and external contacts at all levels.
Must have strong technology skills, including MS Office Suite and an ability to leverage technology in work processes.
Experience with Aderant or Elite or similar billing software is preferred
Benefits:
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $66,300 and $98,200.
In accordance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York City position is between $72,100 and $110,200.
In accordance with California's amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $65,700 and $114,900 In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $71,000 and $101,200.
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
