Lead LIHTC Corporate Compliance Specialist

FPI Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced Compliance Specialist for our Southern California office located in Costa Mesa, CA. Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Property Management and understand the dynamics of excellent customer service, marketing, and LIHTC Section 42 Program rules and regulations; while possessing strong administrative skills and proven initiative. Responsibilities will include:
Training, assisting, supporting and monitoring on site staff in areas relating to Section 42 Compliance. Experience working with LAHD/UFI a must.
Assistance includes telephone calls, written communication, on site assistance and conducting training workshops. Auditing of property files to include overseeing and monitoring the recertification process to ensure all are completed timely. Monitoring that properties are in full compliance with all applicable Regulatory Agreements and compiling all applicable Tax Credit & Bond reports as required by the monitoring agency. Only candidates with Low Income Housing Tax Credit experience need apply.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 year experience performing LIHTC compliance related duties in a centralized department
Work with the Compliance Manager to motivate, manage and develop compliance staff. Ability to establish goals, analyze reports, and problem solve
Assisting onsite & compliance staff in areas relating to Section 42 or other Gap financing compliance
Work with Compliance Manager ensuring properties are in full compliance with all applicable regulatory agreements
Comprehensive knowledge of HUD Income & rent limits
Ability to comprehend various types of Regulatory agreements and apply appropriately to properties
Conduct classroom training for LAHD/UFI, FPI tax credit policy & procedures, and LIHTC requirements
Audit preparation and follow up for all agencies and investors
Monitor all start up properties (lease up & transition)
Coordinate the completion of 1st year files for all lease up properties
Must be well organized, able to multi-task, and be very detail oriented
Yardi Affordable Experience is a plus.
Basic computer skills required, include MS Office, Excel and Word
Must have excellent customer service skills
Must have a track record of reliability and attention to detail
Must pass drug test, background check and have a valid driver's license with insurance.
Education
COS, HCCP or Tax Credit Specialist certifications

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
