Vehicle Description This 1968 Porsche 912 Coupe was completed at the factory on October 19, 1967 and then shipped to California where it was sold by VW Pacific in Culver City, CA to a resident of San Bernardino.
The car has been in CA its entire life and was purchased in 1997 by a resident of Rancho Cucamonga who refurbished the car during the first few years of ownership.
The work began by stripping the body to bare metal and being painted Ivory.
During reassembly, all exterior brightwork was either replaced, re-plated or polished when needed.
The interior was freshened during this time period and the engine was rebuilt as well.
Twenty one years later (2018) the rebuilt engine had accrued 9,000 new miles and it was time for a tune-up that included the installation of Weber carburetors, a new push rod (cylinder #2), spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, an oil change, valve adjustment, new points, spark plugs and wires, distributor rotor, fuel filter and an electric fuel pump.
This 912 runs and drives well, retains its original matching numbers engine and transmission and the cosmetics are very presentable.
Thanks to a life in Southern California, the floors are original and in excellent condition.
