Vehicle Description 1972 Porsche 911T Targa VIN:
9112111059 Engine Number:
6122460 Transmission Number:
7325990 Silver Metallic with Black Leatherette and Pepita Inserts This beautiful 911T Targa was completed at the Porsche factory in February 1972 and fitted with the following options:
US Equipment, Comfort Equipment, Light Metal Wheels, Antenna and Noise Suppression, Tinted Glass All Around and Dunlop Tires.
It was shipped to Holbert Porsche-Audi in Warrington, PA where it was sold to David and Jean Parker on June 2, 1972.
Throughout this 911s entire life, most of which was spent in Ohio, the owners have saved service records, bills of sale and correspondences that document the total mileage on the car as being 47,834.
The present condition is nothing short of stunning thanks to a careful restoration done during 2017 and 2018 by Panelwerks and Steinel's Autowerks in Ohio.
Panelwerks stripped the car to bare metal and repainted it in the original color of silver.
Paint meter readings are impressive and confirm that very little filler was necessary to achieve flat panels and excellent gaps.
All brightwork was restored or replaced as needed and installed with new rubber.
The interior was completely restored, and the seats received pepita inserts for a little style as opposed to the plain vinyl that was original to the car.
The door panels and pockets are in excellent condition and door caps perfectly match the grain on the dash, which fits the windshield vents perfectly.
The 15x6 Fuchs wheels were correctly restored during the restoration and were just recently fitted with new Michelin XWX tires (August 2020).
While the cosmetics were being restored at Panelwerks, the driveline and major mechanical components were over at Steinel's being gone through.
The engine was disassembled, cleaned, all worn items were replaced as needed and then reassembled with all new seals and gaskets.
The injection pump and fuel system were rebuilt and properly tuned while the gearbox received new syncros.
Since the full restortation was performed, only 1,500 miles have been driven.
This matching numbers 911T Targa is not only stunning in its presentation and correctness, but it also has a very impressive history file.
