Vehicle Description 1988 Volkswagen Double-cab Syncro Pickup For 1988, Volkswagen's lineup of Transporters consisted of three body styles, Van, Pickup and Double-cab Pickup.
The rear-engine and rear-wheel drive layout made for a stable vehicle in most conditions, however an all-wheel-drive Syncro was offered for those needing serious traction.
This particular Syncro was ordered in Pastel White and fitted with Front Floor Mats, Bold Graphic Accent Pin Stripe, Power Remote Mirrors - Heatable, and Power Steering.
It is one of ten that were purchased when new by a Canadian oil company from authorized Volkswagen dealer, Speedway Motors, of Victoria B.

After less than a year in service, the Syncros were sold back to the dealer from which they were originally purchased and offered again for sale.
In August 1989, this one was sold to a Ms.
Canfield with just 10,150 kilometers on the odometer.
Ms.
Canfield (the second owner) kept the Syncro until June 2013 when she sold it to an American with 35,088 original kilometers.
The American used it in B.
C.
for a short period of time and then shipped it to his home in California.
Once there, he commenced a mechanical refurbishment that included complete rebuilds of the braking system, differentials, suspension, and an engine rebuild with a 2.

The work was completed late in 2013 and has received proper maintenance during the 6,000 kilometers since it was performed.
