Vehicle Description 1970 Porsche 914-6 Race Car o VIN 914043XXXX o Delivered on May 1, 1970 This is a factory 914-6, finished in dark blue metallic, which was a part of a large collection and eventually was converted to a type 916 look for the racetrack.
The 916 was a performance 914-6 style variant that was first introduced in 1972 at the Paris Auto Salon and featured flared fenders, a steel roof for rigidity, and fiberglass bumpers painted body color.
This 914-6 has steel fenders (front and rear) along with a steel rear engine lid, but to save weight, all the other panels are fiberglass including:
the rear decklid, the front hood, both doors, and the front and rear bumpers.
The bumpers and fenders are of a type-916 look for the racetrack and it has been fitted with a battery cutoff.
The Fuch alloy wheels are 7 x 15 front and 8 x 15 in the rear with Hoosier 205/50 ZR15 and 225/45 ZR15 slick tires.
The interior has been completely stripped and converted to a racing cockpit.
It features an integrated roll bar, VDO instrumentation, a single Scheel racing seat, Simpson racing harness, and a fire extinguisher system.
Mechanically powered by a 911T 2.

The original motor has been replaced with a type 901/16, 911T 2.

It is paired with a type 914/01 5-speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, and modified gear ratios.
